Andrew LeeSunderlandNo arrests at the time, no injuries, no charges for 12 weeks after the even yet Northumbria Police are being allowed to remain unaccountable for their actions. Also i'm discusted 'my' football club is acting in a cowardly way and banning fans who of yet have not been proven to be gulity of anything other than arriving at the Central Station after a good natured away friendly and being ambushed. Niall Quinn has done an amazing job so far as football club chairman but is letting EVERY fan in the country down by failing to take a stance.
safc fansunderlandfirst off i was at the game vs hearts, i have a friend who is a hearts fan i have spoke to them since the game and i make a point of saying this in all respect to the both clubs, the fans and anyone else involved except Nothunbria Police...At the match there was numerous announcments saying that where was a special football train going from Edinbrough Wavely direct to Sunderland at around about 6pm. So can i ask why the hell did it stop at Newcastle Central Station? Why the Hell was there loads of police there waiting for the train...IF IT WAS DIRECT TO SUNDERLAND AS ANNOUNCED AT THE GAME!! and Why didn't the police dogs have no muzzels covering there teath? all those qustions need to be answered before anyone can even come to a conclusion of banning supporters, the IPC say the police had done nothing wrong with in 3 days, and so far taking over 4 months and rebailing the supporters to get a final answer. Thre is only one answer hear the lads are guilty untill proven innocent, Mr Quinn i thought you once quoted "these are my people" well you have a very funny way of showing it. next season if season ticket sales drop and there is more trouble at matches who you going to blame? the fans? i think not just take a look at the decition you have made on this!

Kev LonsdaleSunderlandguilty untill proven inocent? shocking. if they not aloud back this season they should have a re-fund as the lads have done nothing wrong untill/if they are found to be guilty. come on sort it...show how comunity and for the people SAFC really is....or is this all for getting the world cup games here? as much as id like to see it here id rather the club not get it and stop being awkward with the fans, i for one will join a protest if there is ever one! come on Quinn sort it please

Chris ParkerSunderlandNiall, I don't consider for one minute that you were in any way behind the decision to ban our supporters, but you have the authority to see sense in this matter and overturn this unjust decision. I know you'll do the right thing. Chris
Tim WatsonOxford United
Ian LeggArsenalMr Quin as an Irishman i'm sure you are more than aware of the exceses of the British Police towards the public at large, and it is grossly unfair to ban those who have yet to face trial as it assumes they are guilty until proven otherwise. Even those that are found guilty later might well be innocent as Messers Conlon,Hill,Richardson and Armstrong would be able to tell you . It is a disgrace to meet out such heavy handed measures when the thing your supporters are most guilty of is supporting Sunderland through thick and mainly thin !

John LacyYork CityBan fans who can be proved (legally or by any other reliable means) of committing offences. But no ban without evidence.
Gary WilsonYork CityThe law of the land states "Innocent until proven guilty" - this should be the case in football too !
Robin BurgessYork City
Pete BrandonYork City
Alastair SmithYork CityAll fans should be treated with respect, and are innocent until proven guilty, a democratic standard that this country believes in. My understanding is that they haven't even been charged with anything yet, Sunderland have jumped the gun and should backtrack.
Andrew PlowskiCardiff CityI thought that in a democracy like ours your supposed to be innocent until and if proven guilty. I have witnessed Police agression numerous times at football matches and although I was not witness to this incident a lot of evidence & eyewitness accounts suggest that.
Ian AllawayCardiff CityI hate hooliganism of any sort as much as anyone, but having followed my team home and away for over 30 years, I know how easy it could be for a perfectly innocent fan to be arrested first before ACTUALLY doing anything wrong. Clubs need to be certain that the charged fans ARE guilty before banning them, and this does not mean being blindly rounded up by the local police and assuming guilt before a trial.
Steve ClarkYork City
YorkCity ForeverYork CityAs a York City fan we will never forget the support of the Sunderland fans in our time of need. Time to repay that support - Innocent until proven Guilty!!

colm gillpafcArgyle fans suffered similarly before our match with doncaster when an innocent bus load of fans were turned away from s.yorks. subsequently, the police apologised and recognised inaccurate intelligence.
Marc TothillCardiff CityWhat is coming too!. Football supporters are always Guilty until proven otherwise. I thought the law was innocent until proven guilty! Football Supporters = No Human Rights! Fact! It is about time we were treated with respect. We are after all human and the vast majority are law abiding.

Gerald CarneysunderlandTotally agree that the lack of a conviction should determine the fact they should not be banned from the club. Unless proven by the SAFC match stewards that these people were involved. Which I believe is not the case.
Michael FosterReadingI do not not condone any bad behaviour whatsoever by fans. However as a 68 year old supporter of Reading FC and ex Secretary of their Supporters Club I request that this matter be re-examined to ensure fairness is applied
Andrew GilesReading
Martin KentReadingWhatever happened to "innocent until proven guilty"??? Please don't let this become another example of the thoroughly nasty way this country is being run.
Graham CuthbertSunderlandLudicrous decision by the club, and hopefully we'll see it overturned.
Richard VipondSunderlandInnocent until proven guilty, it is the law.
Andy TawseReadingBack the lads Naill , they are the reason SAFC are great.Let them carry on backing their & your team.
Darren SkillingReadingIt would seem that this policy is a unfair one under the circumstances of there ban It would seem that the term innocent until proven guilty would not apply to Sunderland Fc As a Reading fan i would hate to be treated by my club like this until the facts are concluded

John AinsworthSunderland AFCSilence from the club. Silence from the police after their inaccurate claims - some of which are patently ludicrous. For example the police claimed viscous attacks on dogs then admitted that they had no need of a vet's attention. It would be laughable if it was not so serious. Personal experience over 50 years tells me that the NEWCASTLE police have not been honest. So nothing new there then. They have arrested fans, not charged them, tarnished their reputations and then pressured the club into banning them. Niall, I am sorry - but you have allowed yourself to be maneuvered into a disgraceful, immoral position. It is time to stand up and be counted. It is quite straightforward. Innocent until proven guilty. These people have not even been charged, let alone tried. How can you possibly defend your position. Speak out man. And why would Sunderland fans seeking confrontation in Newcastle board a train supposedly heading directly to Sunderland? And who diverted it?
Woody WoodArsenalBe sensible sort this out for these boys. EIE
